요즘 금요 예배시간에 사도요한을 통하여 소아시아 일곱교회에 전하여준 예수님의 메시지를 나누고 있습니다.
어제는 버가모교회에 대하여 나누었습니다. 버가모는 영어로 pergamum입니다. 그리고 페르가몬은 페르(이중) +가몬(결혼)의 합성어로 그 뜻은 이중결혼입니다. 버가모교회시대는 콘스탄틴대제에 의해서 기독교가 승인된 AD313년부터그레고리 1세에 의하여 카톨릭이 뿌리를 내리게된 AD590년까지입니다. 그러니까 이중결혼이라는 의미가 보여주듯 버가모교회는 10명의 포악하고 끔찍한 로마황제의 핍박으로 지하에 숨어지내던 기독교가 콘스탄틴대제의 기독교 승인으로 지상으로 올라온후 바벨론 종교와 혼합된 모습을 보여주고 있는 것이 버가모교회 시대입니다. 그래서 예수님은 버가모 교회를 향하여 이스라엘 민족이 출애굽하여 가나안으로 가던도중 우상제물을 먹게하고 음행함으로 하나님께 심판을 받게 했던 발람의 교훈과 니골라당의 교훈을 교회 안에 허용한 것을 책망하셨습니다. 우리는 흔히 세상에 악한 징조를 보면서 말세라고 말합니다. 그런데 엄밀히 말하면 하늘아래 새것이 없다는 말처럼 동성연애만 보더라도 오늘만의 이야기가 아닙니다. 소돔과 고모라 때에도 동성연애는 있었습니다. 그러니까 진짜 말세징조는 세상에서 보이는 것이 아니라 교회안에 세상의 것이 자연스럽게 자리 잡은것이 말세징조라는 것입니다. 마치 동성연애가 종교다원주의가 교회에 들어와 복음을 변질시킴에도 아무렇지 않게 받아들이는 것이 말세징조라는 것입니다.
이런 버가모 교회에 예수님은 좌우의 날이 선 검을 가지고 나타나셨습니다. 이것은 말씀으로 잘못된 부분을 도려내고 잘라내시겠다는 예수님의 의지를 보여줌과 동시에 우리 또한 말씀으로 충만할때에만 교회 안에 스며들어와서 섞어 버림으로 복음을 잃어버리게 하는 세상의 악한 논리를 이길수 있다는 표징입니다.
버가모 교회에는 순교로 믿음을 지킨 안디바와 같은 1세대가 있었지만, 1세대가 떠나자 순교의 영성이 있음에도 2세대는 금새 육체의 소욕을 따라 발람의 교훈과 니골라당의 교훈을 받아들여 교회를 세속화시켰습니다. 우리도 마찬가지입니다. 1세대중에 동성연애, 종교다 원주의, 교회무용론을 따를 사람은 없을 것입니다. 아마 안디바처럼 목숨걸고 지킬분이 있을것입니다. 그러나 다음세대를 보면 이야기가 달라집니다. 우리 아이들은 학교 교육을 통해 동성연애를 이성간의 사랑과 다른 형태의 사랑으로 배우고 있습니다. 이런 자녀들을 세상논리와 하나님을 대적하는 문화속에서 경건한 세대로 일으킬 수 있는것은 오직 말씀교육 뿐입니다. 이런면에서 교육기관을 섬기고 있는 목회자들을 위해서 기도 해야 합니다.
버가모 교회는 열명의 로마황제 핍박을 이겨낸 서머나 교회시대 다음에 나타난 교회로 자유속에서 하나님의 말씀을 자기식으로, 세상요구대로 변질시킨 교회입니다. 이런 면에서 말씀 교육은 중요합니다.

These days, during the Friday worship service, we are sharing the message of Jesus delivered to the seven churches in Asia Minor through the Apostle John.
Yesterday we shared about the Church of Pergamum. Pergamum is Pergamum in English. Pergamon is a compound word of per (double) + gamon (marriage), which means double marriage. The era of the Church of Pergamum is from AD 313, when Christianity was approved by Constantine the Great, to AD 590, when Catholicism was established by Gregory I. So, as the meaning of double marriage shows, the Church of Pergamum shows that Christianity, which had been hiding underground due to the persecution of ten violent and terrible Roman emperors, came to the surface with the approval of Constantine the Great and then mixed in with the Babylonian religion. So Jesus rebuked the church in Pergamum for allowing the teaching of Balaam and the teachings of the Nicolaitans, which caused the Israelites to eat things sacrificed to idols and to be judged by God for fornication on their way to Canaan after leaving Egypt. We often see the signs of evil in the world and say that it is the last days. However, strictly speaking, as the saying goes that there is nothing new under the sky, even just looking at homosexuality is not just today’s generation. Homosexuality existed even in Sodom and Gomorrah. So, the real sign of the last days is not what’s happening in the world, but the fact that the things of the world are taking place in the church. As if homosexuality and religious pluralism entered the church and corrupted the gospel, accepting it casually is a sign of the last days. In this Pergamum church, Jesus appeared with a two-edged sword. This is a sign that shows Jesus' will to cut out and cut out the wrong parts with the Word, and at the same time, only when we are filled with the Word, can we overcome the evil logic of the world that causes us to lose the Gospel by permeating the church and mixing it up.
In the Pergamum church, there was a first generation like Antipas who kept their faith through martyrdom, but when the first generation passed away, despite the spirituality of martyrdom, the second generation quickly followed the desires of the flesh and accepted the teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans and secularized the church. We are the same. No one in the first generation will follow the doctrine of homosexuality, or religious pluralism. There are probably people who risk their lives to protect them like Antipas. But when we look at the next generation, the story is different. Our children are learning homosexuality as a form of love other than heterosexual love through schooling. Only the Word of God can raise these children into a godly generation in a culture that opposes the logic of the world. In this regard, we must pray for the pastors who are serving the next generation ministries. The Pergamum church is a church that appeared after the Early Church in Smyrna, which overcame the persecution of the ten Roman emperors. In this regard, teaching the Word is important. In the fall, Bible study will begin. Even if you are busy, please register for more than one course in front of the conviction that the Word will save you and the next generation, and put your heart into learning the Word.
