3.14.21 목양실에서 (A Note From the Pastor)

내일부터 2021년 전성도 삼겹줄 새벽기도회가 시작됩니다.

하나님께서 이번 삼겹줄 새벽기도회 기간동안 어떤 응답과 회복이 있을지 정말 기대가 됩니다. 이번 삼겹줄 새벽기도회 기간에는 유기성 목사님의 ‘영성일기 The Spiritual Journal’라는 책을 가지고 한 주간 말씀을 나누려고 합니다.

요즘 주일예배에 요셉의 삶을 나누고 있는데 요셉하면 떠오르는 성경 구절이 ‘하나님이 요셉과 함께하심으로 요셉이 형통했다’는 말씀입니다. 이 말은 요셉의 입장에서 보면 ‘요셉은 항상 하나님을 생각함으로 하나님과 동행했다’는 말입니다. 그러니까 요셉은 노예로 팔려 갈 때에도, 보디발의 집에서 노예생활을 할 때에도, 억울하게 누명을 쓰고 감옥에 던져질 때에도 하나님을 생각하고 하나님과 동행했고 결국 이것이 그의 삶을 형통하게 했다는 것입니다.

그러면 ‘하나님만 생각하고 하나님과 동행한다는 것이 무엇일까’ 이 질문에 유기성 목사님은 자신의 경험담을 가지고 이렇게 고백합니다.

"우리는 언제부터인가 예수님과 실제적인 관계 가운데 사는 법을 잊어버렸습니다. 아니 솔직히 말하면 저 같은 경우에는 처음부터 예수님과의 친밀함을 경험하거나 배운 적이 없다고 해야 정확할 것입니다. 그런 점에서 제게는 아쉬움과 억울함이 있습니다. 십자가 속죄의 복음에 대한 설교와 책도 많이 듣고 읽었습니다. 은혜도 받았고 구원도 받았고 믿음도 많았습니다. 신학교에서는 여러 가지 신학도 배웠습니다. 목사가 된 후에는 교회 조직과 행정 등 아는 것이 많아졌지만 예수님과의 친밀함에 있어서 부끄러울 정도로 성장하지 못했습니다. 이런 영적 메마름은 저뿐만 아니라 수많은 그리스도인들이 겪는 문제입니다. 많은 교회와 그리스도인의 삶에 있어서 예수님은 가장 친밀해야 하는 분이지만 정작 가장 무시되고 있는 분입니다."

이렇게 전제한 후 예수님과의 친밀감을 훈련하는 데 가장 놀라운 것이 일기였다고 합니다. 그러면서 영성 일기를 쓰게 되면 우리의 신앙생활에 어떤 놀란 변화가 생기는지 써보면 안다고 말합니다.

요즘 세태를 보면 2세대는 말할 것도 없고 1세대까지 신앙을 지키기가 어렵습니다. 부흥회의 약발(?)도 며칠 가기가 어렵습니다.

저는 우리 모두가 삼겹줄 새벽기도회를 통해 하나님을 만나고 기도응답받고 영성일기 훈련을 통해 하나님과 동행하여 형통한 삶이 되기를 소원하며 새벽기도회에 모두를 초대합니다.

사람이 일하면 사람이 일하지만

사람이 기도하면 하나님이 일하십니다.

I am looking forward to what kind of answers and restoration God will have during our threefold cord early morning prayer. During this threefold cord early morning prayer, for one week we will be sharing from Pastor Yoo Kisung’s book “The Spiritual Journal”.

These days, I have been sharing about Joseph’s life in our Sunday service, and the bible verse that comes to mind when I think about Joseph is “Joseph prospered because the Lord was with Joseph. This means, from Joseph’s point of view, “Joseph always walked with God by thinking of God”. So when Joseph was sold as a slave, when was enslaved in Potiphar’s house, when he was unjustly accused and thrown into prison, he thought of God and walked with God, and in the end, this made his life prosper.

The question “What is it like to only think of God and walk with God”? This is how Pastor Yoo Kisung answers in his book.

“At some point we have forgotten how to live in a real relationship with Jesus. To be honest, in my case, it would be accurate to say I have never experienced or learned intimacy with Jesus from the beginning. I have heard and read a lot of sermons and books about the Gospel of atonement on the cross. I have received grace, I was saved, and I grew a lot in faith. I learned a lot about theology from seminary. After becoming a pastor, I learned more about church organization and administration, but I never grew to the point of shame in my intimacy with Jesus. This spiritual dryness is a problem that not only me but also for many Christians. Jesus is the person we must be the most intimate with, but his is the most ignored.”

After he says this, he says that most surprising thing about training his intimacy with Jesus was his spiritual journal. He says that if we write a spiritual diary, we will be able to see the surprising changes that will take place in our life of faith.

In these days, it is difficult to keep faith as the first generation, let alone the second generation. It is difficult to see revival after meeting only for a few days.

I invite all of us to the threefold cord early morning prayer, hoping that we will all meet God through the early morning prayer and receive answers to our prayers, and walk with God through our spiritual diary training, to live a prosperous life. When man works, man works. When man prays, God works.
